How to Change Font Size and Style in Microsoft Edge Chromium

The newest browser from Microsoft, Chromium-based Microsoft Edge, allows changing the default font size and font style the browser should use when a web site doesn't come with their definition.

Microsoft Edge is now a Chromium-based browser with a number of exclusive features like Read Aloud and services tied to Microsoft instead of Google.

The stable version of Microsoft Edge Chromium is available to the public for a while. The browser has already received a few updates, with support for ARM64 devices in Edge Stable 80. Also, Microsoft Edge is still supporting a number of aging Windows versions, including Windows 7, which has recently reached its end of support. For pre-release versions, Microsoft is currently using three channels to deliver updates to Edge Insiders. The Canary channel receives updates daily (except Saturday and Sunday), the Dev channel is getting updates weekly, and the Beta channel is updated every 6 weeks. Microsoft is going to support Edge Chromium on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, alongside macOS, Linux (coming in the future) and mobile apps on iOS and Android.

Let's see how to change the font size and customize the font style in the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge.

To Change Font Size and Style in Microsoft Edge Chromium,

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click on the menu button with three dots.

  4. In Settings, click on Appearance on the left.

  6. Select a suitable option from the drop down list.Edge Change Font Size 2
    • Very small
    • Small
    • Medium (Recommended)
    • Large
    • Very large

You are done.

Note: If you do not see the left pane in Settings, then try to maximize or resize (enlarge) the Edge window until the left pane appears.

Also, you can customize the default fonts and specify the default font face, the minimum font size, and more.

Customize Fonts in Microsoft Edge Chromium

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Navigate to Menu > Settings > Appearance.
  3. On the right, click on Customize fonts.Edge Customize Font Style
  4. On the next page, adjust the Font size slider to the font size (from Tiny to Large) you want.Edge Customize Font Style 2
  5. Adjust the value for the Minimum font size slider to the minimum size (from Tiny to Large) you want.
  6. Select a font style in the drop-down lists for Standard font, Serif font, Sans-serif font, and Fixed-width font. You will see a preview of the selected font style below each of the options.Edge Customize Font Style 3

Note: Changing the the Font size slider value here will add a Custom font size to the previously described option.Edge Customize Font Style 4
