How to Export Favorites to HTML File In Microsoft Edge Chromium

As you may already know, Microsoft is now using Chromium and its Blink engine as the core technology for their Edge browser. The browser is gradually receiving new features and options, which sometimes exclusive and unique, and not available in other Chromium-based browsers. In this article, we will see how to export your Edge bookmarks to an HTML file.

Microsoft Edge Channels

Microsoft is currently using three channels to deliver updates to Edge Insiders. The Canary channel receives updates daily (except Saturday and Sunday), the Dev channel is getting updates weekly, and the Beta channel is updated every 6 weeks. The stable channel is also on its way to users. You can find the actual Insider Preview versions at the end of this post. The stable version of Microsoft Edge is expected to be released on on January 15, 2020.

If you have a bunch of bookmarks in the Microsoft Edge Chromium browser, you might be interested in exporting them to an HTML file. This is extremely useful because you can have a backup of your bookmarks. Also, you can open that file later on some other PC or mobile device where Google Chrome is not installed. You can also import the HTML file in another browser on the same PC or another device. Most mainstream browsers support importing bookmarks from an HTML file. Browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and even the classic Edge app (Microsoft Edge) allow you to do it. Here's how it can be done in the modern Edge browser.

To Export Favorites to HTML File In Microsoft Edge Chromium,

  1. Open the Edge Chromium browser and click on the menu button.

  3. From the Favorites menu, select Manage Favorites. Also, you can use the Ctrl + Shift + O shortcut to open the bookmark manager faster.
