A new update is rolling out for users of the OneNote UWP app on Windows 10 right now and it includes some features that are capable of dramatically improving your note taking experience in the app. Some of the new features were already available to Windows Insider Program members in the Fast Ring, but now everyone on the stable branch can try them out.

Office for Mac Insider preview build 15.38 is now rolling out

As you may be aware, Microsoft is using an Insider program for testing almost all of their products and services. Office apps aren't an exception — the Office Insider Program is open to both PC and Mac users and is also available on mobile devices. Yesterday, the company released another preview version of Office 2016 for Mac, available to Insiders on the Fast Ring.

Microsoft quietly released a Windows 10 Accounts extension for Chrome

There still aren't enough extensions available for Microsoft Edge, which is mostly the company's fault — they took too long to introduce extension support at first and now they seem to be doing a very poor job on attracting developers to bring their products to the Windows Store. But this isn't stopping the company from making their own browser extensions — for third party browsers like Google Chrome.

Microsoft delays Story Remix 3D feature, won’t be available in Fall Creators Update

When Microsoft officials first announced Windows 10 Fall Creators Update during the Build 2017 keynote, they showcased a lot of new and cool features that were supposed to be in it. However, as Windows 10 FCU development comes to an end, there are some things that clearly won't make it into this release. We already know that Microsoft has postponed the Timeline feature, but there is one more thing that won't be available despite earlier announcements to the contrary: this time it's the Story Remix 3D feature from the updated Photos app.

Skype Preview for Desktop brings a new look to non-Windows 10 PCs

Skype was a well-loved app before the Microsoft acquisition. But lately, the Skype app experience has been frustrating for most of its users. Even now, according to reviews in various mobile app stores where Skype is available, there are only a handful of people who say they like Microsoft's latest redesign attempts. Regardless, the same changes are coming to the Universal Windows Platform version of the app for Windows 10 and for the Windows 7/8.1 desktop version as well .

Xbox App on Windows 10 finally got a light theme

Microsoft has just released a new update for the Xbox App on Windows 10 with some long requested features, including support for a light theme. This is probably done ahead of the next big update release for the Xbox One console, which will add a similar light theme option for the entire UI.

ShareX screen capturing tool is now available in the Windows Store

Windows 10 has more than enough options for making a screenshot with built-in features: from the recently introduced Win+Shift+S keyboard shortcut and Screen sketch in Windows Ink to the more traditional ones like Snipping tool and PrtScreen, Alt+PrtScreen and Win+PrtScreen hotkeys. However, some people prefer an integrated solution that handles everything from capturing, editing to sharing. There are, of course, dozens of third party Win32 apps and UWP apps for making screenshots on the web, but ShareX is one of the most popular options right now.

Photos app updated with new features on Windows 10 Creators Update

Earlier this year, during the Build 2017 keynote, Microsoft announced a new version of its Photos app which comes preinstalled with Windows 10. Shortly after the initial announcement, some new features have been rolled out as an update for members of the Windows Insider program. But a few days ago, the company finally made them available for everyone, including those on the current branch release, Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703).

Bing Maps to support custom map styles and more

Microsoft's Bing Maps is certainly not the most popular maps service worldwide, but for Universal Windows Platform developers, it's a good mapping solution to use in their apps. Microsoft continues to improve it on both fronts — for regular users and developers at the same time. The latest update to the service, named Bing Maps V8 Summer Update, bring some features that were long requested by both kinds of users.
