Edge Chromium Will Sync Your Extensions Soon

Edge Canary Fluent Big 256 Icon

The latest Canary update, build 80.0.341.0, comes with a teaser for a new sync feature. There is a new option that will finally allow sync your installed extensions across the instances of Microsoft Edge running under the same Microsoft Account.

The feature can be spotted under Settings -> Profiles. On the right side, Click on Sync under your user profile details, and you will see a new option, Extensions.

As of the moment of this writing, the option is a stub, and is disabled. Its description says

Coming soon! We'll turn it on as soon as it's ready

This is definitely a feature that many Edge users are looking forward to. There are no details on when exactly it will be enabled and become fully available. Perhaps Microsoft have to prepare their infrastructure for this new sync data type.
