Journal is a new inking app from Microsoft with these features
By the end of the last week, Microsoft Garage Project released a new experimental app named Journal. Journal is a free ink-focused application for Windows 10 with some neat advanced features. In contrast to OneNote, Journal focuses primarily on inking on devices with stylus support, such as Surface Pro 7 or Surface Book. Microsoft says the developers want to "unlock new capabilities not possible with physical paper or seen in today in most inking applications" and "explore how we can push new AI and new interaction techniques to make inking more delightful and accessible."
Smart Text Prediction is coming to Word next month
The latest Microsoft 365 roadmap update reveals the release date of text prediction for Word. If you are familiar the Gmail web app or its Android version, this feature must be well known to you. It uses AI capabilities to learn your typing patterns and proactively predicts the next phrase with the context in mind. Microsoft announced word prediction for Office apps in the Autumn of 2020, and it is now coming to all Microsoft 365 subscribers. Currently, the smart text prediction feature is available to Office Insiders in the Beta Channel.
Facebook will delete your WhatsApp account if you don’t agree to new policies
The Facebook company has updated the official WhatsApp FAQ with additional information about what will happen to users who do not agree with the new Terms of Service. According to the Facebook-owned service, your WhatsApp account will be flagged as inactive and eventually removed if you do not accept new policies by March 15, 2021.
A new version of Surface Duo Emulator includes more app samples
Unorthodox devices, such as Microsoft’s Surface Duo, need extensive support from third-party developers so that users can enjoy all the features and capabilities of a new form-factor. To make optimizing apps for Surface Duo easier and provide a better understanding of how apps work on Surface Duo, Microsoft offers an emulator in which developers can test apps and see them in action without owning a device. A couple of days ago, Microsoft released a new Surface Duo Emulator version with new app samples.
Surface Pro 7 and Surface Studio 2 received February firmware updates
Microsoft has released a bunch of fresh updates for those owning the latest Surface Pro 7 and an older but still actual Surface Studio 2. As usual, these updates contain new firmware, drivers, and different improvements to make your device work better. You can install them using Windows Update in Settings if your Surface Pro 7 and Surface Studio 2 device runs Windows 10 1903 May 2019 Update or newer.
Microsoft has announced the dates for Inspire 2021
The official Microsoft Partner Twitter account has shared the dates for the upcoming Inspire conference. This digital-only two days event will take place on July 14-15. In the following tweet, Microsoft Partner has notified users that the registration will open in June, but the specific date remains unknown.
