Vivaldi has finally received a built-in private translator

Mainstream browsers, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, have built-in page translators since the stone age. Chrome uses Google Translate, and Edge has Microsoft Translate. Now, Vivaldi joins the list with an integrated translation service. It is available in the latest snapshot 2238.3.

Open History in New Tab with Ctrl + H in Microsoft Edge

It is now possible to make Microsoft Edge open History in a new tab with Ctrl + H. Earlier this keyboard shortcut was always opening the History flyout aka "Hub".

In the recent updates, the browser from Microsoft received several new compact flyouts or “hubs.” These hubs allow you to quickly check history, downloads, and favorites without leaving the currently open page. This behavior is not suitable for all users.

Windows 10 Build 19042.906 (20H2) and Build 19043.906 (21H1) released to Insiders

Microsoft today updated both Beta and Release Preview channels of Windows 10. Insiders in the Release Preview channel are set to receive a build from the 20H2 branch, which is Build 19042.906. Insiders in the Beta channel are getting Build 19043.906 of the upcoming Windows 10 version 21H1.

Microsoft is moving the taskbar outside of the Explorer shell

Traditionally, the Start menu and the taskbar were part of explorer.exe since very first Windows versions of Windows. But things has changed in Windows 10.  First, the Start menu has got its own process. Now with Insider Build 21343 the taskbar has become an external component.

Windows 10 will store third-party drivers under a dedicated location

Microsoft is in the process of creating a new storage location for third-party drivers in Windows 10. The Redmond software giant wants to isolate such drivers on Desktop similarly to what they have on Windows 10X. However, in regular Windows 10 versions there will be a special folder for that, not a dedicated storage partition.

Show or Hide Quick Links on New Tab Page in Microsoft Edge

The New Tab Page (Ctrl + T) in Microsoft Edge is very customizable. It includes a fancy Bing image of the day, and search box, and a set of quick links

By default, when you open a new tab (Ctrl+T) in Microsoft Edge, you see a Bing search bar, Bing image of the day set as the page background,  and a set of quick links to your frequently sites. Also it may include Bing news below visible on scroll.

Microsoft Edge will remember if you pinned Collections between restarts

Currently, if you pin the Collections pane to the right, next time you open the browser it will turn back to a flyout. Users who prefer to have Collections pinned find this behavior extremely annoying, as it requires to pin it again and again. Finally Microsoft is about to change it.
