Microsoft Edge will remember if you pinned Collections between restarts

Currently, if you pin the Collections pane to the right, next time you open the browser it will turn back to a flyout. Users who prefer to have Collections pinned find this behavior extremely annoying, as it requires to pin it again and again. Finally Microsoft is about to change it.

In the Canary channel, Edge has received a minor update that now allows it to remember the change, and retain the pinned state of Collections. It is a long awaited update and most requested option for many Edge users.

Collections is an exclusive feature of the Edge browser. You can consider them an alternative to classic bookmarks. With Collections, you can arrange several links into a group. Inside that group, links will appear with previews, so it is easy to find one at a glance.

You can manage your Collections, export and import them using a useful GUI. Microsoft is actively working on this feature, so it regularly receives visual improvements and new features. There is integration with Pinterest and OneNote, Word, Excel, and other interesting features. Edge can sync your Collections between your devices, including your smartphone when you are signed with a Microsoft Account. You can open Collections with the Ctrl+Shift+Y keyboard shortcut or via a special toolbar button.

Updated Collections Flyout In Edge

Microsoft is constantly working on improving Collections. Just recently the company brought the ability to sort the collection list by Name, Date and Recently.
