Several months ago, Microsoft announced its plans to introduce a 64-bit version of the OneDrive sync client for Windows. This is a default app that comes preinstalled with every consumer-based Windows 10 SKU. Since the very first release, the OneDrive sync app for Windows has been available as a 32-bit app. After many years, Microsoft is finally ready to upgrade the program to a 64-bit platform.

OneDrive is getting a File Restore feature
Microsoft has revealed a useful new feature coming to OneDrive which will allow quickly restoring corrupted files. It will add an extra layer of protection for files and folders maintained on OneDrive. If the files in your OneDrive account get compromised by malware, or if you accidentally delete some files, the feature can be used to restore the files. If there is file corruption in your account in the event of a datacenter crash or server file system issue, then also this feature would be useful.
OneDrive is getting the ability to search for words in images
An impressive feature is coming to OneDrive. Earlier this year, Office 365 and OneDrive got AI-powered search features which allowed them to recognize objects in your photos so you could search for them. Now Microsoft is rolling out an additional enhancement. Soon, OneDrive will be able to recognize words in images that you have uploaded to the cloud and it will be able to search them. The process is seamless and transparent to the end user and doesn't involve any extra actions. An Optical Character Recognition (OCR) engine will scan the text in your images.

View your folders offline in OneDrive Premium for Android
Microsoft has once again updated its Android version of the OneDrive client, adding one of the most frequently requested features for Premium users. Premium users of OneDrive can now mark entire folders to be available in offline mode. The offline mode itself isn't new to the app but previously its users were able to download only single files for future use.
Microsoft to limit shared items volume for free OneDrive users
It has come to our knowledge that Microsoft is applying more restrictions to free OneDrive user accounts. Earlier, Microsoft had shrunk their disk space from the promised 15 GB to 5 GB for users who didn't have a paid subscription. This time, the company is reducing the available outgoing traffic for files shared by a free OneDrive user.
Fix: Skydrive shows synchronization required for properly synced folder
The SkyDrive web service these days is an important part of the Windows 8.1 experience. It has deep integration with the OS and has become a part of the File Explorer and Modern apps.
Sometimes, usually right after installation, Windows 8.1 shows you the "synchronization in progress" overlay icon for one or several of your Skydrive folders.
When you look inside the folder, you will be surprised though that all the contents are already synced!
