Microsoft today announced that the text predictions feature is coming to Word and Outlook. It works similar to what Gmail on web and Android has. It is indented to speed up your input by analyzing the already entered text and giving a prediction based on its context.

Smart Text Prediction is coming to Word next month

The latest Microsoft 365 roadmap update reveals the release date of text prediction for Word. If you are familiar the Gmail web app or its Android version, this feature must be well known to you. It uses AI capabilities to learn your typing patterns and proactively predicts the next phrase with the context in mind. Microsoft announced word prediction for Office apps in the Autumn of 2020, and it is now coming to all Microsoft 365 subscribers. Currently, the smart text prediction feature is available to Office Insiders in the Beta Channel.

Microsoft’s Word for Web, which is available for all users for free, has got interactive apps support. You can now embed YouTube videos or content from other popular services. All you have to do is copy the shareable link and paste it into a document. Once Word recognizes the link, it automatically transforms it into a video player or other interactive content.

Unified Office app is now available for iPad

After a brief period of testing, Microsoft finally released the unified Office app for iPad. This application combines several most popular Office apps in a single program; thus, it saves you space on a device and makes using Office apps simpler. The unified Office app debuted back in February 2020 but only for iPhone. Microsoft promised to release the optimized version for iPad somewhere in late 2020, and after little changes in the release schedule, the app is now available.

Microsoft Office is now available for Apple Silicon CPU devices

Microsoft have ported its Office apps to Apple devices with the new chip, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. The apps are actually Universal Apps which run natively on Apple Silicon. You can already download them if you are a lucky owner of the device.

Office 2010 and Office 2016 for Mac reached their end of support

Microsoft discontinued its two popular products, Office 2010 for Windows and Office 2016 for Mac. An official announcement says that the software has today received their final updates, and won't get them any longer.
