Since the first public build of Windows 11 a couple of months ago, the new operating system from Microsoft has been relatively stable, providing users with the ability to run Windows 11 on primary machines (we do not recommend doing that). While current Windows 11 preview builds work well, Microsoft warns that things are about to get a little rough. In an email to Windows insiders, the Software giant warned testers about potential instabilities in upcoming builds. The company recommends switching from the Dev channel to the Beta channel while the program allows that.

Edge gets free-form text boxes support for the PDF Viewer
A couple of months ago, Microsoft updated the roadmap for Edge, providing more information about the upcoming changes and new features. According to Microsoft, Edge 94 is on track to receive a significant update for the built-in PDF Viewer. One of the biggest changes coming soon is the free-form text boxes support. Microsoft is now rolling out the feature for a limited set of Edge Insiders in the Canary Channel. It is a part of Controlled Feature Rollout, which means not all users are getting access to new capabilities right away, but Microsoft will increase the testing scope once Edge 94 gets closer to the public release.

There are several ways to open PowerShell in Windows 11. This article lists them all. PowerShell is a powerful scripting console app in Windows 11 Microsoft introduced back in 2008. Changing the default browser in Windows 11 is a mess, and third-party developers are not happy
In one of the articles on Winaero, we covered a topic that will bother millions of people once Windows 11 ships to the public somewhere later this year: "How to change the default browser in Windows 11." Windows 10 is known for some shady practices of resetting default apps and forcing users to switch to Microsoft Edge. In Windows 11, Microsoft takes that annoyances to an almost absolute limit by removing a simple way to change the default browser. Of course, not everyone is happy with that change.
Microsoft revealed redesigned Paint coming soon to Windows Insiders
We already know that Microsoft plans to redesign many of the Windows 11 stock apps. One of the apps to receive modern UI and refreshed looks is the classic Paint. Microsoft has already teased the app in several stock apps, and now Panos Panay himself published a video with the redesigned Paint for Windows 11.
Edge Canary gets a dedicated tab search button
Since Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome use the same rendering engine, the two browsers share many features. Still, some capabilities arrive in Microsoft Edge much later compared to Google Chrome. Tab Search is one of such features. Stable versions of Chrome offer the tab search button for quite a long time now, while Microsoft continues experimenting with that for almost a year. In the latest update to Edge Canary, Microsoft added a new button to invoke tab search in the browser.

“Super-Duper Secure Mode” is now in Microsoft Edge settings
Recently, Microsoft introduced a new experimental flag for its Edge browser called "Super-Duper Secure Mode." When enabled, the flag disables JIT in the JavaScript V8 engine to make Edge safer. JIT (just-in-time) is a compiler that preloads JavaScript code before the browser needs it to improve performance and make it feel snappier. According to Microsoft, half of the bugs in the V8 engine have their roots tied to JIT; thus, disabling the technology improves security significantly.
