Microsoft Store Updated with Fluent Design’s Connected Animations

Today, Microsoft started rolling out a new update for the Microsoft Store app to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring which features more elements of Microsoft's very own design language, known as "Fluent Design". The Connected Animations effect from Fluent Design is now applied to app listings.

The Ability To Buy Hardware is Coming To Windows Store

Microsoft is about to change the name of the built-in content delivery system in Windows 10. The Store app, known as "Windows Store" since Windows 8, is getting a new name. Microsoft might be rebranding the Windows Store to Microsoft Store where the company would sell more than just apps, games and other content for Windows 10 devices.

MS Office Desktop Apps Are Available For Windows 10 S

As you may remember, in May 2017 Microsoft released Office desktop apps for Windows 10 S "Cloud Edition", but at the time they were only available for the Surface Laptop with Windows 10 S preinstalled. Today, these apps became available for all Windows S devices.

Windows Store Features Office Desktop Apps in Search

Microsoft is going to put their Office desktop apps in the Store in the near future. As of this writing, you can find app links in the Store using search, but they do not work. This should resolve over the next few months running up to the release of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (Redstone 3).

Telegram client is now available in the Windows Store

Telegram Messenger has been available on multiple platforms for years now, including Android, iOS, Windows PC and Windows Phone. Sadly, the current app for Microsoft platforms is not universal and runs only on mobile devices, while desktop users had to download a classic Win32 version of the client from the official site. Yesterday a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) version has also become available to install from the Windows Store. But this has been made possible with the help of the official Microsoft Desktop App Converter tool.
