Photos app is getting new animations and features

Microsoft is working on another update for its built-in Windows 10 Photos app for members of the Windows Insider program. The new update not only introduces new features, but also improves the UI by adding new animations and transition effects to the app. These features are currently being tested by Microsoft and will be rolled out to the public later.

Some Story Remix 3D Effects Could Be Paid

As you may already know, Story Remix is an evolution of the Photos app that makes it easier than ever to relive your memories and introduces video story creation from your photos and videos. This feature has been planned for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, but won't be shipped with the OS. Instead, it is coming to "Redstone 4" preview builds for Insiders. It looks like Microsoft is going to limit some 3D effects, music and text styles to Office 365 subscribers.

Microsoft delays Story Remix 3D feature, won’t be available in Fall Creators Update

When Microsoft officials first announced Windows 10 Fall Creators Update during the Build 2017 keynote, they showcased a lot of new and cool features that were supposed to be in it. However, as Windows 10 FCU development comes to an end, there are some things that clearly won't make it into this release. We already know that Microsoft has postponed the Timeline feature, but there is one more thing that won't be available despite earlier announcements to the contrary: this time it's the Story Remix 3D feature from the updated Photos app.

Photos app updated with new features on Windows 10 Creators Update

Earlier this year, during the Build 2017 keynote, Microsoft announced a new version of its Photos app which comes preinstalled with Windows 10. Shortly after the initial announcement, some new features have been rolled out as an update for members of the Windows Insider program. But a few days ago, the company finally made them available for everyone, including those on the current branch release, Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703).
