Microsoft offers a fix for the PSFX_E_MATCHING_BINARY_MISSING error when installing updates

After installing KB5003214 and KB5003690, released on May 25, 2021 and June 21, 2021 respectively, users started facing a bug in Windows 10. When installing updates, Windows 10 shows a PSFX_E_MATCHING_BINARY_MISSING error message. The affected versions of the OS include 2004, 20H2 and 21H1, which share the same code base.

Windows 10 version 21H2 build 19044.1200 released

Microsoft today released a new build of Windows 10 version 21H2 to Insiders in the Release Preview channel. These builds are available to users whose devices do not meet minimum hardware requirements of Windows 11, so they receive 21H2 instead. Today's build 19044.1200 is released with patch KB5005101. It adds support for WPA3 H2E for Wi-Fi, and includes a number of fixes and improvements to Windows Hello, WSL, and more.

Almost 90% of Steam users run Windows 10

Steam Hardware Survey for July 2021 reveals the latest data about gamers' hardware and software preferences. According to Steam, almost 90% of users (89.66%, to be precise) prefer Windows 10 over any other platform (it is not like they have that much choice). Now-unsupported Windows 7 remains relatively popular with 5.48% of users. Combined with the 32-bit version, Windows 7 occupies 5.59% of the entire userbase and sits tightly in second place.

Microsoft has announced Windows 10 LTSC version 21H2, and Windows 11 LTSC

The upcoming release of Windows LTSC will be the last one based on Windows 10, and all subsequent ones will be built on Windows 11.

Windows 11, the latest operating system from Microsoft, which is due to release later this year, brings not only several interface changes. Several weeks ago, Microsoft announced new servicing policies for Windows 11. The operating system will get one major update a year with two years of support for each version. As for enterprise customers, they will be getting 36 months of mainstream support.
