After a month, Microsoft finally releases a webcam fix for Surface Pro X

Microsoft developers have released a driver update to resolve issues with non-working webcams on the Surface Pro X. The updated camera driver is finally available on Windows Update. It supports Surface devices running Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 21H2/22H2 with Qualcomm 8cx Gen 1, Qualcomm 8cx Gen 2, Microsoft SQ1, and Microsoft SQ2 chips.

14th generation of Intel CPUs, Meteor Lake, is likely to be only mobile

The upcoming 14th generation of Intel processors, known as Meteor Lake, is expected to primarily consist of mobile processors. A leak of slides from Intel presentations and previous statements from the company allow making such a prediction. It appears that there will not be full-size desktop versions of the Meteor Lake processors, with the focus being on the laptop market and the iGPU device niche.

Microsoft may already be ditching the Surface Duo

It appears that Microsoft's foldable dual-screen smartphone has been abandoned, at least from an external perspective. The Surface Duo last received a major software update in October 2022, when Android 12L was released. Since then, there has been little activity regarding new features and bug fixes.

Microsoft is working on ARM-based Surface Go 4 and 11-inch Surface Pro

According to reports, Microsoft is preparing to launch a new version of the Surface Go tablet this year. This will be the first time the tablet will be built on ARM processors. The new device, codenamed Tanta, will come with a Snapdragon 7c chip as its standard processor. The shift to ARM technology is expected to result in a longer battery life, while maintaining similar performance levels.
