Surface Duo for AT&T receives a long-overdue January update
In September 2020, when Surface Duo went on sale, Microsoft promised three years of monthly updates for its new quirky smartphone. So far, Microsoft has variable success with sticking to its word. There was no update in December 2020, and the January update arrived with a significant delay. Finally, Surface Duo, AT&T-locked, receives a long-overdue update with new patches and improvements.
Update Discord before installing February Cumulative Updates
On February 2, 2021, Microsoft released a preview of the upcoming February cumulative updates for Windows 10. These updates will go live today, but before installing them, make sure to update the Discord app on your computer.
A Camera Privacy Indicator is spotted in Windows 10X
You have probably noticed that sometimes additional icons appear in the notification area in the Windows 10 taskbar. When an app accesses your location or uses a microphone, the OS alerts users with the respective icons. When you hover over them with your mouse cursor, the system shows which app currently uses your microphone or location. For some reason, there is no such icon for a camera, but Microsoft may soon introduce the missing puzzle piece.
Edge receives a small update that makes browsing history easier
Recently, Edge Canary received a minor update to the download flyout. With the latest updates, you can quickly find the needed download without clicking the search button. Now, the same update arrived for another part of the browser. This time it is available for the browsing history flyout.
Microsoft is testing an updated Weather Widget in Windows Search
A new Weather Widget now appears in Windows Search on Windows 10 for some users.
Some users noticed that Microsoft updated Windows Search with a new UI. The first thing you will see in an updated version is a large weather tile for your current location with the current and upcoming weather conditions. Clicking on this tile will open a fully-fledged Windows Weather app.

Mozilla to remove Site Specific Browser (Site as app, PWA-like feature)
The upcoming Mozilla Firefox 86 update will drop the app mode for websites, which is also known as SSB or Site-Specific browser. It that allows running a page as an app on your computer with a separate icon on a taskbar, in a dedicated window that will appear in the app list.
Users with older computers may soon be running out of updates for Edge
Update: Chrome users are also affected. It is a change in the Chromium project.
It has come to our knowledge that some Edge users started receiving a notification message regarding the browser's updates. When trying to install an update, Edge sent a notice that it will soon stop updating itself because the computer’s hardware is no longer supported.
