Back in 2015, Microsoft allowed users with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 to upgrade their operating system to Windows 10 for free. They used some dishonest tricks too to force upgrades to Windows 10. After some time, the free upgrade offer was provided for users dependent on assistive (accessibility) technologies. This offer was supposed to end in 2017 but was extended in 2018 by a few more days. The Redmond software giant has now ended the free offer for assistive technology users on January 16, 2018.

OneDrive is getting a File Restore feature
Microsoft has revealed a useful new feature coming to OneDrive which will allow quickly restoring corrupted files. It will add an extra layer of protection for files and folders maintained on OneDrive. If the files in your OneDrive account get compromised by malware, or if you accidentally delete some files, the feature can be used to restore the files. If there is file corruption in your account in the event of a datacenter crash or server file system issue, then also this feature would be useful.
Microsoft may move Cortana from Search to the Action Center
Cortana is a virtual assistant bundled with Windows 10. In the production branch of the OS, Cortana is integrated with the Search feature on the taskbar. Microsoft is considering detaching Cortana from the taskbar and moving it to the Action Center.
