Microsoft is preparing for release new ISO files for both Windows 11 and Windows 10, version 22H2. Both releases will receive integration of the latest cumulative updates. Plus, Windows 11 will get an option to faster receive "Moment" updates.
Update 2023/05/24: The ISO files are now available for download.
As you may remember, Windows 10 version 21H2 support is ending on June 13, 2023. Microsoft has updated the Health Dashboard website with an extra reminder regarding the upcoming change. Also, the company noted that they will soon force update 21H2 devices to the latest Windows 10 version.
I am releasing a new version 1.50 1.52 of my all-in-one Winaero Tweaker app. I polished it for Windows 11 22H2 and Windows 10 22H2, added a number of new features, and fixed several bugs.
Windows 11 is started to get components written in Rust. Rust is a modern memory-safe programming language that is growing in popularity. Earlier, Linux kernel was the only mainstream project that had Rust support for its modules, but now has Windows joined the party.
Microsoft today released a new build in the Release Preview channel. Windows 11 Build 22621.1776 comes with a huge number of new features and improvements, all of which are slated to become the Moment 3 update.
Earlier in April, we reported that there was a proposal to the Chromium code base that adds Windows 11's Mica effect to the window frame of the browser. It didn't take long for it to reach users: Chrome Canary comes with Mica titlebars enabled by default.
In addition to the Patch Tuesday updates, Microsoft today released two new builds to Insiders running Windows 11 in the Beta channel. Both builds do not include new features, and only include a number of minor fixes.
Microsoft has released cumulative updates for all the supported operating systems. These updates are mainly focused on resolving bugs and eliminating vulnerabilities, and don't introduce any new features. You can download these updates from Windows Update, or manually from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
Mozilla has updated the stable branch of Firefox with version 113. The release is notable for Picture-in-Picture enhancements. Also, AV1 format implementation now supports animations (AVIS). Another interesting change is the improved password generator that now adds special characters by default. And much more.
New AI Copilot features will soon enhance Microsoft 365 apps and services. The Redmond software giant has announced that OneNote, Loop, Viva Learning, and Whiteboard will all receive the Copilot update. It is important to note that AI features in Microsoft 365 are currently in a closed preview.
