Microsoft and Activision Blizzard delay merging deadline to October 18

Following negotiations with UK regulators, Microsoft and Activision Blizzard have agreed to extend their merger agreement until October 18. The companies have committed to following all regulatory agreements and will work with the CMA to address any concerns raised in the UK. Microsoft Vice Chairman and President Brad Smith expressed confidence in finalizing the deal.

Windows 11 Build 23506 (Dev) is out with new Outlook, Copilot, new Emoji, and more

Microsoft has released Windows 11 Build 23506 to Windows Insiders on the Dev channel. The update includes Unsafe password copy and paste warnings, new Passwordless experience with Windows Hello for Business, Local File Sharing improvements, and new Outlook as an inbox app. You will also find Windows Copilot Preview, updated color font format for emojis, Voice Access on the lock screen, and improved backup and restore options.  The new home page in the Settings app has been temporarily disabled due to a stability bug. Two additional recommendations have been added to the Power & Battery section in Settings. Finally, there are ISO images for this build that are available for download here.

Anyone could deactivate your WhatsApp account thanks to a bug

ESET cybersecurity expert, Jake Moore, has discovered a method to automatically block any WhatsApp account. He managed to achieve that by sending an email to the service's technical support address, requesting the account lock and providing the linked phone number in the email body.
