Microsoft today released the first preview build of Windows 11, build, 22000.51, to participants of the Windows Insider program in the Dev Channel. The company notes that it will continue to improve the OS in the coming months, so now you can try many, but not yet all of the new features that were announced last week. In particular, the "Chat" app based on Microsoft Teams and the ability to run Android applications are not yet available.

You can enable Windows 11 Dev Channel on unsupported devices, bypass the limitation and receive the builds. The first preview build of Windows 11 will be available to insiders on the Dev channel, so this is a great chance to personally evaluate the new operating system and test it on your device.

Microsoft employee Anduin Xue posted several screenshots of Windows 11 build 22000.51 on his Twitter. The images show the updated Explorer, new context menus, the Widgets panel, the updated Settings apps, and much more.

Earlier, Microsoft officially announced the Windows 11 operating system, which will be released in late 2021 and will be available as a free update for Windows 10. However, the minimum system requirements for the new system have changed, which is why many devices were simply incompatible with Windows 11.

During the Windows 11 announcement, Microsoft revealed a new app that will be available to Windows 11 users out of the box. It lets the user communicate with friends, family, and colleagues through Microsoft Teams via a simplified UI.

During the Windows 11 presentation event, Microsoft announced that the newest OS will be able to run Android apps from the Amazon App Store, which will be integrated into the new Microsoft Store. It will use the Intel Bridge technology. However, this does not mean that Android applications supported will be limited to Intel processors.

A few days ago Microsoft unveiled a new app store for Windows 11, for which the company significantly changed its policy regarding which apps can be published in the Microsoft Store. In particular, developers will be allowed to use third-party payment services without a commission from Microsoft. Also, there is integration with the Amazon App Store that allows installing Android apps on Windows 11.

A Microsoft engineer has confirmed that Windows 11 will allow to install Android apps from APK files, without using any Store app. Simply put, if the app is not in the Amazon App Store, you can download the APK file and install it. However, it is not yet known how the installation process of such apps will take place.

Quickly after the app's initial release, Microsoft today updated the Windows 11 PC Health Check app. The initial version was heavily criticized by upset users for not providing the actual reason of the device incompatibility. There is a galore of modern, fresh devices which the utility has rated as not compatible with Windows 11.
