Microsoft today announced the release of stable versions of Visual Studio 2022 and .NET 6. From now,  developers can download both tools from the official website and start using them in their projects.

On the official Tech Community Forum, Microsoft announced upcoming changes to the built-in OneDrive client in Windows. On January 1, 2022, Microsoft will stop supporting OneDrive in old Windows versions, namely Windows 8.1, 8, and 7. The company says it wants to focus resources on new technologies and operating systems and "provide users with the most up-to-date and secure experience."

You can disable side-channel mitigations in VMWare Player to improve Windows 11 performance. VMWare Player, a free version of VMWare Workstation Pro, recently received software TPM support, allowing users to create Windows 11-compatible virtual machines for various purposes (like testing preview builds in the Windows Insider program).

Microsoft has introduced a new app for Microsoft 365 subscribers called Loop. It tries to rethink and combine the capabilities of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Teams, - into one canvas which should increase the productivity of teams.

Microsoft announced that Clipchamp, a web-based video editing application, will be available with a Microsoft 365 subscription and will be integrated into the Office suite. Microsoft announced at Ignite 2021 a mixed reality collaboration and meeting solution called Mesh for Teams. As the name suggests, this technology is built on top of Microsoft Mesh and is integrated with Microsoft Teams.

PowerToys 0.49 is now available for download in the stable channel (the app technically remains a public preview). The update brings two new utilities and a host of various improvements for existing tools.

WSATools is a new tool that will install APK files on Windows 11 with a single click. Microsoft recently launched Windows Subsystem for Android on Beta versions of Windows 11, allowing Windows Insiders to test Android apps support. Officially, you can download Android apps via the Amazon App Store only (and only in the US), but there is an option to sideload APK files using Command Prompt. To make installing Android apps on Windows 11 easier, one developer is currently working on a GUI-based tool.

On the Visual Studio Code website, Microsoft announced a web version of the Visual Studio Code IDE. Now users can access a lightweight version of a popular code editor without the need to download and install additional applications on their computers. To get started with Visual Studio Code for Web, navigate to vscode.dev in your preferred browser. Open a folder with your project and start coding. Microsoft does not even require a Microsoft Account to access vscode.dev.

Microsoft today released a new preview version of Windows Terminal 1.12. The new update brought with it some very useful features. For instance, You can now set the stable version of Windows Terminal as the default terminal in Windows 11, including Insider Preview builds from the Dev channel.
