Microsoft Edge Beta is now available on Linux

Microsoft Edge includes an enhanced PWA installation experience
You can now enable Web App Post-Install Dialog in Microsoft Edge.
While some developers are ditching progressive web app support in their browsers, Microsoft, Google, and others continue investing in this feature as more and more users embrace PWAs. A few versions back, Microsoft has added to Edge a new flag that slipped under our radars. It is responsible for an enhanced PWA installation experience that gives users a few useful options right after installing a web app.
Enable or Disable Automatic HTTPS for URLs in Microsoft Edge
You can enable or disable Automatic HTTPS for URLs in Microsoft Edge. The browser now includes a special option to control this behavior. There is a new flag that adds the Automatically switch to more secure connections with Automatic HTTPS setting, so you can turn it on/off or further configure it under Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
Microsoft Edge Receives Reverse Image Search in Bing Sidebar
Yet another new feature found its path to Microsoft Edge. Currently available to a small select group of Insiders, it allows the user to search for similar images on Bing right from the context menu of an image on the open page. The result will appear in the sidebar. As you could guess, Edge uses Bing when searching for similar images.
Make Microsoft Edge Remember Pinned State for Downloads, Favorites and History
Here's how you can make Microsoft Edge remember the pinned state for Downloads, Favorites, Collections and History pop-up flyouts.
Recently, Microsoft introduced the pop-up flyouts for Favorites, Collections, Downloads and History in the Edge app. They now appear as menus. Edge allows pinning them, so they will remain visible all the time. There only problem that the browser didn't remember the pinned state for flyouts, so they used to disappear after you restart Edge. This issues has been finally addressed.

Microsoft details Performance Mode in Edge
A couple of weeks ago, Microsoft quietly introduced Performance Mode for its Edge browser. This mode is not publicly available yet, but some users can enable it in Edge Canary using a simple command. At the time of writing about how to enable Performance Mode in Microsoft Edge, there was no specific information on how this mode works. All we had was a vague description claiming that "Performance mode helps you optimize speed, responsiveness, memory, CPU, and battery usage." In the latest Canary build, Microsoft has provided a little more detail about Performance Mode in the Edge browser.
