Outlook Receives Spaces, a new way to organize your workflow

Microsoft reveals a new feature of the Outlook web service, simply called 'Spaces'. Microsoft describes them as follows: Spaces helps you organize your emails, meetings, and docs into easy-to-follow project spaces. Forget worrying about dropping the ball; Spaces helps you stay effortlessly on top of what matters.

Office 365 apps are now available in the Windows Store for Windows 10 S

Microsoft has started shipping all of its Surface Laptop pre-orders a few days ago and made it available for purchase in select countries. That also means Windows 10 S, the edition that runs only apps from the Windows Store, is now available publicly for the first time ever. Of course, Microsoft had to offer a way to use its own desktop apps and services on that edition too so the company has finally published Office 365 applications into its own Windows Store.

Microsoft will now release two major updates to Windows and Office every year

Along with the release date for the next Windows 10 update, codenamed Redstone 3, last week Microsoft also announced that from now on, the company will release two major updates for Windows 10 and the Office apps suite. The first update will be released in March and the second one rolled out in September. This will help enterprise customers and IT specialists to be ready for updates at the same time every year and better plan their testing and adoption stages.

Microsoft Office gets stability improvements on Mac and iOS with the recent Office Insider update

Microsoft has launched the Office Insider program for Mac and iOS users not so long ago. They are keeping it updated at a frequent pace. The company has recently released a new Office Insider build for Mac and iOS, bringing more performance and stability improvements to its users. On mobile devices, the changes are focused on improving the user experience for Word, Excel and PowerPoint, while Office for Mac has received some additional tweaking in the Outlook mail app.

January Insider Slow update for Office 2016 on desktop is now available

Microsoft has pushed out the January 2017 update for Office 2016 on desktop (version 7766.2039) for Office Insiders on the Slow ring. New builds bring some interesting features, including real-time email collaboration for Office 365 users. You'll also be able to use your pen to manipulate objects in documents, which is an additional improvement to the list of what you can do with your pen in Office applications.

Microsoft releases new Get Office hub for Windows Insiders

The 'Get Office' app is one of the apps that comes preinstalled with Windows 10. But it wasn't very useful for most users as it only showed information about Office 365 features. In the latest Windows Insider build, the app has got an update which Microsoft feels will be more useful. In current builds, the app's branding still remains "Get Office", but it is expected that Microsoft will rename it to "Office Hub".

Microsoft’s Office event is happening November 2

Earlier this month, Microsoft sent out press invites for its November 2016 Office event. It's not clear what exactly the company is going to announce during that event, but you can expect to see not just upcoming changes for Office 365 but also some new products. This is probably where the long-rumored Slack competitor, Microsoft Teams, is going to be announced.

Classic Microsoft Office apps will get new inking features soon

Microsoft is holding an Office-related event next month, but we got a hint about some of the new features coming to classic Office apps during the recent Surface / Windows 10 event. The company itself wasn't focusing on announcing them and spent more time talking about other stuff, including 3D support in PowerPoint, but we got our first look at the new Inking functionality right after the event, when the official Microsoft Office channel on YouTube uploaded the following video:
