Microsoft Edge Chromium Receives Favorites Toolbar Button

Microsoft are continuously adding features from the classic Edge app to their newest Chroium-based browser. The latest Canary build of Edge receives a new minor feature borrowed from the classic app - a toolbar button for faster access to Favorites.

Microsoft Edge, the default web browser of Windows 10, is moving to a Chromium-compatible web engine in the Desktop version. Microsoft explains that the intention behind this move is to create better web compatibility for customers and less fragmentation for web developers. Microsoft has already made a number of contributions to the Chromium project, helping to port the project to Windows on ARM. The company promises to contribute more to the Chromium project.

Like many other Chromium-based browsers, the new Microsoft Edge browser includes support for the Group Policy. Microsoft has released a set of administrative templates that will allow administrators and advanced users to maintain certain browser features in a production environment or locally.

A little change is coming to Edge. A new button for direct access to Favorites can be enabled in Edge.

It replicates the same functionality of the Microsoft Edge 'Store' app. Here's how it works:

It is a work in progress, but sooner or later it will be available to everyone.

Microsoft is currently using three channels to deliver updates to Edge Insiders. The Canary channel receives updates daily (except Saturday and Sunday), the Dev channel is getting updates weekly, and the Beta channel is updated every 6 weeks. The stable channel is also on its way to users. The new Microsoft Edge browser installs updates automatically. Also, you can manually check for updates by visiting the menu Help > About Microsoft Edge. Finally, you can grab the Edge installer from the following page:
