Instead of installing the latest OS on a virtual machine yourself, you can download the ready-use image that also includes a set of developer tools.

Microsoft today released a new PowerToys version 0.64. It makes two new tools available to everyone. One of them, File Locksmith, will show you what process is preventing you from deleting or moving the file. Another one, Hosts File Editor, is an easy-to-use tool for changing the hosts file. Finally, PowerToys can now export/import their settings.

Besides the search in Task Manager and the updated Reset PC dialog, recent Windows 11 pre-release builds include one more hidden gem. The Settings app now has a new Energy Recommendations page that allows you to reduce your carbon footprint and extend the battery life by following the tips listed on it.
