Microsoft has officially released the Moment 3 update for Windows 11

Microsoft has released an optional cumulative update KB5026446 (OS Build 22621.1778) for Windows 11 version 22H2 that brings with it several new features and changes. Being part of the Moment series, it ships new features without users having to upgrade to a full pledged release. This is the second such update in 2023.

Windows 11 Moment 3 Update Released

All users of Windows 11 version 22H2 are expected to receive the update as part of the next Patch Tuesday, which is June 13, 2023. If you want to install the update now, then go to Windows Update and check for updates. Some features will also require you to update your apps through the Microsoft Store.


New features

Isolation of Win32 apps

Windows 11 will now be able to run desktop Win32 applications in a sandbox to prevent unwanted or unauthorized programs from accessing critical Windows components. The feature will significantly increase the security of the operating system. It is important to note that this is a preliminary version of the sandbox, which means that in some cases it may not work correctly.

Windows 365 Boot

Yow you can directly boot into Windows 365 Cloud Desktop and make it the default on your device. When you turn on your computer, it will prompt you to sign in, after which it will immediately start the Windows 365 environment without any additional steps.

Bluetooth Low Energy Audio

Added support for Bluetooth Low Energy Audio. This technology delivers high-quality audio at low power consumption to improve call, video, and music quality on compatible devices, including wireless headphones such as the Galaxy Buds2 Pro.

The Widgets panel layout. Pinned widgets are now separated from the MSN News Feed. There's now a dedicated MSN Video tab and a new widget pinning dialog to make this process easier.

You will find animated weather icons on the taskbar, better recognition of 2FA codes in notifications, kiosk mode with multiple apps, time with seconds in system tray, new VPN status icon on the taskbar, Voice Access improvements, support for more languages in Live Subtitles, updated touch keyboard settings, cloud offerings for Simplified Chinese IME, USB4 settings page.

There are also keyboard shortcut hints in File Explorer, creation of kernel memory dumps in real time, speed up the search in "Settings", presence sensing, Win32 application isolation feature (preview), and ability to download desktop from Windows 365 (preview).
