Microsoft Finds No Link Between August 2025 Update and SSD Drive Failures
Microsoft has concluded that the August 2025 Windows security update KB5063878 does not cause reported incidents of solid-state drive (SSD) and hard disk drive (HDD) failures. The update, part of the Windows 11 24H2 release, became available earlier in August. Reports of drive disconnections and data corruption emerged in the second half of the month.
Microsoft Expands Xbox Cloud Gaming Access and Updates Xbox App for ARM Devices
Microsoft has extended Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) access to users with Xbox Game Pass Core and Standard subscriptions. Previously, this feature was exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Subscribers can now stream games included in their plan and select purchased titles that support cloud streaming. The rollout is currently limited to a group of Xbox Insiders participating in the testing phase.
Windows 11 version 25H2 is now available to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel
As of today, Windows 11 version 25H2 (Build 26200.5074) is available as an optional update for Windows Insiders enrolled in the Release Preview Channel. Users can manually check for updates through Windows Update and choose to install the feature update at their discretion. Once installed, devices will begin receiving monthly cumulative updates automatically.
