You may remember a special Edge Insider extension that Microsoft was about to release to users of pre-release Edge versions. It was supposed to work as an extra communication channel for Edge Insiders, delivering new features and allowing tweaking of the Insider program options. However, the extension had been pulled out of Microsoft Store shortly after it was discovered. Now, a new version of the extension is on the way to the Store.

According to the source, it will be officially introduced soon.
The previous version of the Microsoft Edge Insider extension allows switching between build channels "Canary", "Dev", and "Beta".
The newer version is yet to be announced. At a glance, it includes all the features of the previously released add-on.
Actual Microsoft Edge Versions
The actual pre-release versions of Edge Chromium at the moment of this writing are as follows:
- Beta Channel: 77.0.235.15
- Dev Channel: 78.0.249.1 (see what's new in this version)
- Canary Channel: 78.0.257.0
