Google will do more to combat ad blockers on YouTube

Google has announced stricter controls on third-party apps that violate YouTube's terms of service, particularly ad blockers. The company warns that using such tools may cause buffering issues and display a "Content is not available in this app" error.

Google highlights that third-party apps disabling ads go against YouTube's terms, as it prevents content creators from earning revenue. The company only allows third-party apps to use its API if they adhere to these terms, taking action when violations are identified to protect the platform, creators, and viewers.

In the near past, YouTube launched a campaign to discourage the use of ad blockers by promoting YouTube Premium. However, this new initiative specifically targets mobile ad blockers like AdGuard. Google suggests opting for YouTube Premium as a solution, with the subscription priced at $13.99 per month or $139.99 per year.
