A new change has landed on the Canary channel of Google Chrome. The browser now includes a new Settings page which resembles Firefox settings.

As of this writing, Google Chrome is the most popular web browser. It is available for Windows, Linux, Mac and Android. Sporting a minimalist design, Chrome features a very powerful fast web rendering engine "Blink" to make your browsing experience faster, safer, and easier.

Starting in Chrome 69, the browser features significant changes to the user interface. These include a 'Material Design Refresh' theme with rounded tabs, the removal of the 'Secure' text badge for HTTPS web sites replaced by a Lock icon, and a reworked new tab page.

The Settings page of Google Chrome Canary is now slightly enhanced and features a panel on the left with categories of options, making it easier to navigate the options by directly jumping to the relevant section. The 'Advanced' link is now on the left, so you won't need to scroll the page down to access more options.

On the left, you will also find a link to the Extensions page, along with the About Chrome link.

The design of the new Settings page of Google Chrome looks similar to what you can see in Firefox or the newest Microsoft Edge browser.

At the moment of this writing, Google Chrome Canary represents version 76 of the browser. It is not known yet when this new feature will reach the production branch. It may take months. The change should be available first in the Beta channel.

Having categories of option on the left makes Settings more useful and improves the user experience because you can find the option you are looking for much faster. Personally, I like this change.
