Developers will try to prove that Denuvo does not affect game performance

Irdeto, the owner of Denuvo's anti-piracy protection technology, are going to prove to demonstrate that its product does not negatively impact game performance. For that, they are going to start a program allowing trusted media to compare game performance with and without Denuvo's protection.

ℹ️ Denuvo has faced criticism from players and media for allegedly causing performance issues, activation problems, and limiting buyer rights. Irdeto, which acquired Denuvo in 2018, aims to address these concerns.

Steeve Huin, the COO of Irdeto, acknowledges the criticism and emphasizes that technologies like Denuvo enable studios to monetize their products and support new game development. He states that Denuvo was created by gamers to improve and strengthen the gaming industry.

Huin argues that comparing games with and without Denuvo publicly is challenging without access to an unprotected copy of the game. Additionally, games often receive multiple patches after their release. To address these factors, Irdeto plans to develop a program for media to find any significant differences between the two versions of the games.

The program is expected to launch by the end of the year, although an exact date has not been specified.
