On June 28th, 2021, Microsoft released the first official Windows 11 preview build to the public. Windows 11 comes with a huge list of new features and UI improvements that will make users happy and excited about Windows again. As is always the case with pre-release software, early Windows 11 builds contain bugs, instabilities, and rough surfaces. Microsoft has published the official list of known bugs in Windows 11, plus enthusiasts managed to find workarounds for other hiccups you may encounter while testing the new OS from Microsoft.

Following the public release of the first preview build of Windows 11, Microsoft provided more information about the system's hardware requirements. According to the official documentation from Microsoft, Windows 11 officially supports devices with Intel 8th gen / AMD Ryzen 3000 processors and up. Still, some of Microsoft's employees showed their Surface Studio 2 with Intel 7th gen CPU running Windows 11 without any issues. The latest blog post from Microsoft explains the situation.

Microsoft today released the first preview build of Windows 11, build, 22000.51, to participants of the Windows Insider program in the Dev Channel. The company notes that it will continue to improve the OS in the coming months, so now you can try many, but not yet all of the new features that were announced last week. In particular, the "Chat" app based on Microsoft Teams and the ability to run Android applications are not yet available.

You can enable Windows 11 Dev Channel on unsupported devices, bypass the limitation and receive the builds. The first preview build of Windows 11 will be available to insiders on the Dev channel, so this is a great chance to personally evaluate the new operating system and test it on your device.

Microsoft employee Anduin Xue posted several screenshots of Windows 11 build 22000.51 on his Twitter. The images show the updated Explorer, new context menus, the Widgets panel, the updated Settings apps, and much more.

Earlier, Microsoft officially announced the Windows 11 operating system, which will be released in late 2021 and will be available as a free update for Windows 10. However, the minimum system requirements for the new system have changed, which is why many devices were simply incompatible with Windows 11.

During the Windows 11 announcement, Microsoft revealed a new app that will be available to Windows 11 users out of the box. It lets the user communicate with friends, family, and colleagues through Microsoft Teams via a simplified UI.
