Microsoft teases Windows 11 in a 11-minute-long YouTube video

Although there is still no official confirmation of the name of "the next generation of Windows," Microsoft has released a YouTube video teaser that subtly confirms Windows 11 is coming. Microsoft published an 11-minute-long video called "Windows Startup Sounds - Lo-Fi Remix." It is a collection of startup sounds from different Windows versions slowed down 40 times. In the description, the company says that the video will help enthusiasts to relax before the June 24 event.

Microsoft will end Windows 10 support in 2025

Microsoft's official Windows 10 support documentation has just added more fuel to the fire of rumors that quickly spreads around the upcoming big Windows announcement. On June 24, 2021, Microsoft plans to unveil "the next generation" of Windows, and many think it will be Windows 11. Although back in Windows 10's infancy, Microsoft made a bold statement claiming Windows 10 to be "the last Windows version," many rumors point to the fact the company wants to supersede Windows 10 with a new version. The updated Windows 10 support documentation backs those claims.

News and Interests is now available to all Windows 10 users

Those who follow Windows updates know that monthly updates usually do not bring any significant or visible changes. Traditionally, cumulative updates for Windows fix bugs and security issues, leaving new features and capabilities to bi-yearly "big" updates. That was not the case with June 2021 cumulative updates for Windows 10. This time, updates, released on Tuesday 8, 2021, brought one new feature to all users running supported versions of Windows 10 on their PCs. That feature is "News and Interests."

Microsoft won’t release new Insider builds until the ‘Windows 11’ event

As everyone could expect, Microsoft has temporarily stopped releasing Windows 10 Insider builds in the Dev channel. Instead, the company will focus on testing the servicing system. This means that in the coming weeks, Insiders will receive several small cumulative updates for Build 21390, similar to the one released yesterday.

Perhaps this is how the Settings app will look in Sun Valley

Sun Valley is the name for the upcoming major user interface redesign of Windows 10. We know about it not that much at this moment of writing. We have already seen new icons, some rounder corners of Windows and a bit refined look of controls in built-in apps. We also expect some parts of now-cancelled Windows 10X to be included in the upcoming release. A new leak reveals how the Settings app will look in Windows 10 "Sun Valley".

A leak confirms Windows 11 to be the next Windows release name

The well-known insider Evan Blass actually confirmed on his Twitter that Microsoft will unveil a new operating system called Windows 11 on June 24. Rumors are circulating for several weeks that the new Windows may be Windows 11, but it was only a reference to the new version.
