Windows Subsystem for Android has got new settings and networking improvements

Microsoft today released Windows Subsystem for Android July update for Windows 11. Version 2205.40000.14.0 is now available for participants of the Windows Insider program in the US. It brings with it some pretty important improvements.

Windows 11 Preview Builds 22621.290 and 22622.290 are in Beta

Microsoft today released two new Windows 11 builds to the Beta channel insiders at once. The company decided to split insiders into two groups. The first group will receive builds 22622 with new features enabled, while the second will receive builds 22621 where these features are disabled by default. They already used this approach back in 2019 with Windows 10 version 19H2 in the Slow ring.

A new OneDrive client with a Windows 11-like settings design is in the works

Microsoft is working on a new OneDrive app that receives a design overhaul. It gets a touch of Windows 11 appearance, which is mostly notable when you open its settings. The company has already added such settings to several built-in apps, e.g. Notepad.

Microsoft appears to be working on a lightweight Outlook version for Android

Microsoft is reportedly working on a "lite" version of the Outlook app for Android. The lite version could eventually replace the current Outlook for Android client. However, it seems much more logical for Microsoft to have both applications simultaneously.

MSEdgeRedirect has reached version 0.7, adds image search redirections

MSEdgeRedirect is a must have tool for everyone who aren't happy with Bing integrated too much in Windows 11. The app allows you to use alternative search engines where possible. Also, it makes it possible to open links in your favorite web browser instead of Edge. This affects all links in all apps, including apps from the Store, and links in the Settings app. Version 0.7 of MSEdgeRedirect further expands its capabilities to image searches, and includes reliability fixes.

AdDuplex: Windows 11 share reached 23%

According to a new AdDuplex report, Windows 11 now has 23% of market. Their stat info on the use of different versions of Windows is based on information from 5000 applications. The apps are using the AdDuplex SDK, and serve as the only data source. So the actual numbers must be different, but Microsoft never shares its own stat on the OS usage.
