Microsoft Edge 125 introduces the RAM Limiter feature

Microsoft Edge 125, currently in Beta, introduces a feature to limit RAM consumption. There is now a new option in Setting that allows you to determine how much RAM the web browser can use in games or for content tasks. It is located under System and Performance > Performance Management.

Zero Trust DNS support is coming to the next Windows 11 version

Microsoft has revealed its interest in enhancing the security of the Windows OS family products by introducing a new feature in a future version of Windows. There is a private preview of Zero Trust DNS that is designed for businesses to only connect their computers to approved networks.

Windows 11 24H2 reaches the Dev channel with Build 26120.461

Microsoft today released a new Insider preview build 26120.461 with KB5037009. The Dev channel now receives updates from the based on Windows 11, version 24H2 via an enablement package (Build 26120.xxxx). Some of the features will become available gradually. Similarly to the Beta channel, you can enable the Get the latest updates as soon as they're available  option in Settings > Windows Update to get them faster. The rest will get those features a bit later.

More Chrome users now see the annoying Bing promotion

Recently, users of Windows 10/11 who use Google Chrome have reported seeing pop-up ads promoting Bing on the right side of their browsers. While some initially thought it was malware, it was actually part of a new Microsoft campaign. Now the company is rolling out it to more languages and regions.

Microsoft won’t fix the WinRE error that doesn’t fit the recovery partition

Microsoft has announced that they will not fix the error 0x80070643, ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE caused by the big size of WinRE that no longer fits the recovery partition. The company didn't provide any automation solution or any other kind of fix. So affected users have to manually resize the partition or reinstall the OS to continue to receive future updates.

After latest Patch Tuesday updates, VPN doesn’t work properly on Windows 11/10

Microsoft has officially confirmed a new bug in both Windows 11 and Windows 10. Windows 11 Build 22631.3447 (KB5036893) and Windows 10 Build 19045.4291 (KB5036892), released on April 9, are now affected by a VPN issue when the connection just fails.

Microsoft has updated its Cascadia Code font with a new Nerd Font variant

Microsoft has refreshed its open-source Cascadia Code monospace fonts for use in terminal emulators and code editors, unveiling new versions known as Cascadia Code NF and Cascadia Mono NF (Nerd Font) featuring additional glyphs inspired by the Nerd Fonts initiative.

OneDrive web version can now work offline mode

Microsoft is rolling out the offline mode for the web version of OneDrive. Currently, it is only available to users with work or school accounts. The offline work allows opening locally downloaded files that you made available offline earlier. Besides, it allows working with the home page and the “Favorites” section. Finally, you can rename, sort, move and copy files. All changes made will be synced the next time you connect to the Internet.
