Windows 11’s taskbar will now show information from various Widgets for everyone

Microsoft is rolling out a change to the taskbar to everyone running Windows 11. It will now be able to rotate the information from various widgets in the left corner. Currently, it only shows the weather forecast from the appropriate widget. Now you will see notifications from news, sports, and finance mini apps.

Microsoft first introduced this change to Insiders in with the Build 22622.440, and tested it for a short period of time in the Beta channel. Now the company finds it suitable for daily use and rolls it out to the public.

To deliver this new feature to the stable OS users, the Redmond firm has formed a new Web Experience Pack. After installing it, you'll have the following feature.

  1. The taskbar will show sports, news, and finance info, one after one.
  2. Clicking it will open the appropriate widget.
  3. If the user doesn't interact with the data block in the taskbar, it will return to the weather forecast.
  4. Once any of the mentioned  widgets receive a new important update, it will again appear in the taskbar.

Despite this is available to the public, you may not see it right now. That's because Microsoft rolls out the updated Web Experience Pack gradually.

Microsoft considers the widget platform very promising, so it is constantly being refined and improved. A few days ago, the weather widget received a batch of changes that made the weather forecast more accurate. Those who aren't interested in widgets have options to uninstall them or disable via Group Policy.
