Visual Studio 2022 is now a 64-bit software, so the IDE can make better use of available system resources. This allows it to work smoothly with complex solutions. According to the Redmond firm, pre-release IDE users were able to work seamlessly on solutions containing over 700 projects over the course of several days.

But probably the most anticipated feature of Visual Studio 2022 is Hot Reload. Hot Reload allows devs to edit source code, and apply the changes on the fly, without recompiling their target software. It also supports Live Preview and cross-platform testing on Linux. You will find more details of the changes in the release notes.

Dotnet Unified Platform

As for .NET 6, it also became available on Windows, Linux and macOS. Microsoft says .NET 6 provides a unified platform for cloud, desktop, IoT, and mobile applications by using the same .NET libraries. By the way, the new version has improved performance, especially when it comes to file I/O operations.
