How to Install or Uninstall Microsoft Paint (mspaint) in Windows 10

You may remember that Microsoft was about to move the classic Paint app to the Microsoft Store and exclude it from Windows 10 by default. This decision has been cancelled, but in 20H1 builds of WIndows 10 Paint appears in the list of optional features in Windows 10, so you can uninstall or install it again.

Remove the Product Alert Button from Microsoft Paint

In Windows 10, Microsoft recently made a change to Microsoft Paint. In addition to the extra button "Edit with Paint 3D", the app shows a new Product Alert button. When you click it, it shows a hint that the days of the Paint app is over. It will be moved to the Store soon, leaving Paint 3D as the only built-in Paint version for Windows 10. The majority of Paint users are not happy with this change.

Download Classic Paint for Windows 10

Starting with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, Microsoft is ditching the good old Paint app and replacing it with a new Modern app called "Paint 3D". Classic Paint's new home will be the Windows Store, but I am afraid it won't stay there forever. Many people are not happy with this change because the old mspaint.exe loaded faster, was more usable for mouse and keyboard users and allowed quickly pasting images from the clipboard, cropping them and saving them. If you would like to get the classic Paint app back in Windows 10, it is possible. In this article, we will see how to restore Classic Paint back in Windows 10.
