You can lock your screen to protect your PC from unauthorized use when you walk away for a short time and do not want to sign out from your user session or turn off your computer. In Windows 10, there are several ways to lock your PC. One of them is the Lock command in the Start menu, under the user account picture. If you are the only user of your PC and have nobody to lock your PC from, you can remove this command since it will be of little use to you.

This option can be changed with a Registry tweak. You need to sign in as Administrator before proceeding.
Open the Registry Editor app and go to the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FlyoutMenuSettings
There, create or modify the 32-bit DWORD value named ShowLockOption. Note: Even if you are running a 64-bit Windows version, you still need to create a 32-bit DWORD value.
If you set its value data to 1, the Lock command will be visible in the account picture menu.
A value data of 0 will hide the Lock command.
