Finally: Skype for Linux Alpha 1.10 supports 1-to-1 video calls

Microsoft today released Skype for Linux Alpha version 1.10. This new application is a completely redesigned Skype version which has nothing common with the previously available Skype 4.3. Finally, Skype for Linux got support for 1-to-1 video calls.

Settings app replaces Control panel in Win+X menu in Windows 10

In Windows 8, Microsoft introduced a new feature - the Win+X menu which can be opened by pressing Win+X shortcut keys together on the keyboard. In Windows 10, you can simply right click on the Start button to show it. The Win+X menu contains shortcuts to useful administrative tools and system functions. Starting with Windows 10 build 14942, Microsoft is removing classic Control panel applets from the Win + X menu and replacing them with pages from the Settings app.

Meet the new Paint app for Windows 10

Microsoft is working on a new app which is intended to replace the good old classic Paint app in Windows 10. The new version of the application will be a "Universal" app and might become available on all Windows 10 devices including Windows 10 Mobile.  As of this writing, two videos which demonstrate the app in action along with the full APPX package are available.

The Briefcase feature is removed in Windows 10 Redstone 2
