Microsoft ditches the “Office” branding from its modern unified app

At Ignite 2022, Microsoft unveiled a major update to the Office app for Windows, Android, and iOS that brings an updated user interface and several new features. The application now has a new name, Microsoft 365, to stay in line with the eponymous service. Of course, it also features a new logo.

Windows 11 2022 Update will receive screen recording in Snipping Tool

Besides the new Surface device announcements, Microsoft also revealed a few more changes that Windows 11 2022 Update, version 22H2, will soon receive. Much to surprise, there are new apps Apple TV and Apple Music, and new features in the Snipping Tool. The latter will allow you to record your screen without installing anything extra.

These are updates in the Microsoft’s Surface device family

Microsoft holds the Surface event, and reveals updates to the device family. As expected, the company announced the Surface Pro 9, along with merge of the Surface Pro X with the main Surface Pro line. The new Surface Pro 9 is now the first device that include processor options from both Intel and Qualcomm/ARM. There are also Surface Studio 2+ with 11th gen Intel processor and NVIDIA RTX graphics, and Surface Laptop 5 with 12th Generation Intel Processors.

One more bug in Windows 11 22H2 is related to Windows Hello

Microsoft has confirmed another issue in the Windows 11 2022 Update (version 22H2) that may cause some users to experience issues using Windows Hello, which is responsible for face and fingerprint recognition, and PIN authentication. The problem does not affect users who set up Windows Hello before updating to Windows 11 2022 Update.

Microsoft releases October cumulative updates for Windows 11 and Windows 10

Today is the second Tuesday of the month, so Microsoft traditionally puts a fresh portion of cumulative updates on Windows Update servers. The patches are available for all supported operating systems. As usual, such updates do not include new features. They will fix known bugs and eliminate vulnerabilities.

Phil Spencer has leaked a photo of Xbox ‘Keystone’ streaming device

Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox in Microsoft, has published on Twitter a new photo with a brand new device under the Xbox brand. It is a box for streaming games through the Xbox Cloud Gaming service. The company was talking about it last year. The device is also known under the code name Xbox Keystone.
