Microsoft Edge 104 stable brings more apps to the sidebar, adds new policies
Microsoft has released Edge 104.0.1293.63 to the stable channel of the app. It adds several new icons to the sidebar so more apps will be accessible with one click. Also, there are a few new policies and fixed vulnerabilities.
Installing KB5012170 causes BitLocker issues on Windows 11
Microsoft has confirmed a BitLocker bug that was introduced in KB5012170. After installing this patch the device goes to the BitLocker recovery where it asks to provide recovery keys.

Now he shares the sound prepared for Windows 8, along with a secret startup sound for the original Microsoft Surface. The latter didn't see the light before.

Microsoft Store has got several visual and search improvements
With Windows 11 Build 25182, Microsoft has announced an important change to the Microsoft Store. From now, it allows directly downloading and installing games without involving the Xbox app. Earlier, it would switch to the Xbox app to get a game installed on your device.
New taskbar animations are no longer available as of Windows 11 Build 25182
The new taskbar animations you could have enabled in Windows 11 Build 25179 are no longer available. Microsoft has reversed everything back to the default animations similar to what Windows 11 stable has in Build 25182. The latter was released yesterday to Insiders in the Dev channel.
Windows 11 Camera App now recognizes Privacy Shutter
Microsoft has updated the built-in Windows 11 Camera app so that it now recognizes the hardware shutter. It is available on some devices, including Microsoft's very own Modern Webcam. Some laptops also have such a shutter.
Windows 11 Build 25182 (Dev) includes various fixed for shell components
Microsoft today released a new Insider build in the Dev channel. The official announcement doesn't mention any new feature, and comes with a list of fixes. The full build tag is 10.0.25182.1000.rs_prerelease.220812-1437. The most notable fixes where made for Start menu, taskbar, and Windows Update. Also, Microsoft has changed the build expiration date.
PowerOCR is a new PowerToys app that will retrieve text from the selected screen area
The PowerToys suite will soon get a new tool, PowerOCR. It will allow you to select any screen part, OCR everything and put the result into the clipboard.
