Windows 11 Build 25915 (Canary) ships new Outlook as its inbox app

Microsoft has released a new preview build of Windows 11, Build 25915, to Insiders on the Canary channel. It comes with the new Outlook app preinstalled, as well as with several features from the Dev channel. Finally, the refresh rate processing logic on a multi-display system has been updated. It now allows you to have a specific refresh rate for each monitor.

Windows 11 Build 23511 (Dev) adds more Windows Spotlight improvements

Microsoft today released Windows 11 Build 23511 to Insiders in the Dev channel. The update brings with it a new Spotlight experience, a camera notification when the shutter is on, fixes to Snap Layouts and a colorized notification bell in the system tray instead of the round counter.

Microsoft to Host Windows Insider Bug Bash Event on August 2

Microsoft has revealed that a new Windows Insider Bug Bash event is scheduled for August 2, 2023 exclusively for members of the Windows Insider Program. The event will primarily focus on preview builds available in the Canary, Dev, and Beta channels, showcasing the latest features. While the Bug Bash will likely involve attendees in identifying bugs in Windows 11, it excludes the Release Preview builds.

Remote Code Execution Vulnerability affects VirtualBox, a fix is already available

According to the Zero Day Initiative profile resource, a vulnerability with the CVE code 2023-22018 has been identified in Oracle VirtualBox. It allows the remote execution of arbitrary code on virtual machines via an RDP protocol session.

The new Xbox dashboard is now available for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One

The Xbox team has revealed that a revamped homepage will now roll out on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. The team aimed to incorporate user feedback in the development of the new dashboard, such as providing more room for background images and making important sections of the system more accessible.

New Outlook will replace Mail and Calendar for some users already in August

Microsoft earlier announced that the support for UWP Mail and Calendar apps for Windows 10 and Windows 11 will cease by the end of 2024. They will be replaced by a new Outlook client for Windows, which has been in testing for several months. Some users will get the new app already in August.
