Yet another minor update to Mozilla Firefox is released today. Quickly after version 82.0.2, the company is rolling out version 82.0.3.
This release fixes a flaw that was found at the Tianfu Cup Hackathon.
CVE-2020-26950: Write side effects in MCallGetProperty opcode not accounted for
In certain circumstances, the MCallGetProperty opcode can be emitted with unmet assumptions resulting in an exploitable use-after-free condition.
It is worth noting that the next major release, Firefox 83, is scheduled for November 17, 2020, so it will be released on the next week. There must be a bug that Mozilla considers critical or important to fix, so that's why we have a new minor version released today.
