Microsoft Introduces Surface Laptop Go for $549

Microsoft today introduced a new Surface Laptop Go device, that is an affordable item from the modern Surface family. Its price starts at $549, which is the most cheap option when compared to Microsoft's premium Surface devices.

Surface Laptop Go 1

The device is a competitor to Chromebook Go, and comes with the following specs.

  • Intel Core i5-1035G1
  • 4GB or 8GB LPDDR4x RAM (16GB in the Surface Laptop Go for Business)
  • 64GB eMMC, or 128GB or 256GB SSD.
  • 12.45" screen with the 1536x1024 resolution with 148ppi

The above configuration is notable lower that the hardware used in other devices, like Surface Laptop 3.

Surface Laptop Go 2

The lowest configuration doesn't include a fingerprint sensor. Surface Laptop Go options with an SSD will have it integrated in the power button. This is a One Touch sign-in sensor that requires to be pressed before it can recognize your fingertip.

The device is available in the Ice Blue, Sandstone, and Platinum colors. It retains all the ports you could find in premium Surface devices, such as Surface Connect, USB Type-C, and USB Type-A.

Microsoft is going to start selling it on October 13, but the pre-order option is already available.
