Edge Canary Fluent Big 256 Icon

Microsoft has added the Annotation option to Edge Web Capture

Some time ago Microsoft added a new feature to Edge Canary, called Web Capture. It can be used to capture and share a portion of a web page. The company officially announced it a few days ago, and already updated it with the ability to add annotations to your screenshots.

The feature is available from the main menu of the browser. It allows selecting an area of the currently open web page. Once captured, the fragment appears in a preview dialog, and can be further shared, copied to the clipboard, or saved to the disk. The function is located in the main menu.

The latest Edge Canary and Dev builds (see the version list below) now allow adding a note once you capture an area of a web page. The annotation tool includes a pen option with a set of colors, and allows adjusting its thickness.

The feature currently participates in a Controlled Feature Roll-out, so it might not appear in your Edge browser.

Note: Microsoft has started delivering Microsoft Edge to users of Windows via Windows Update. The update is provisioned for users of Windows 10 version 1803 and above, and replaces the classic Edge app once installed. The browser, when delivered with KB4559309, makes it impossible to uninstall it from Settings. Check out the following workaround: Uninstall Microsoft Edge If Uninstall Button is Grayed Out
