A minor update to Firefox 84 is now available for download. Firefox 84.0.2 fixes a critical vulnerability CVE-2020-16044.
What's new in Firefox 84.0.2
Fixed CVE-2020-16044: Use-after-free write when handling a malicious COOKIE-ECHO SCTP chunk
A malicious peer could have modified a COOKIE-ECHO chunk in a SCTP packet in a way that potentially resulted in a use-after-free. We presume that with enough effort it could have been exploited to run arbitrary code.
Firefox 84.0.2 is released on January 06, 2021. You will find the download link on the official release notes page.
The original version 84 of Firefox was released on December 15, 2020. It is the last version that supports the Flash NPAPI plugin. It also includes a number of improvements made to performance and security. For instance, it allows you to manage optional extension permissions on the add-ons manager page. Also, it natively supports Apple Silicon chips (M1).

Advertisеment
Hey! Just wanted to let you know about a potential tweak for Winaero Tweaker! If you go to the registry folder “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell” and make a new DWORD 32-bit in there, call it “UseWin32TrayClockExperience” and set it to 1, you have the old clock flyout! Hope you add this tweak to Winaero Tweaker. :)
It was already available in Winaero Tweaker. The tweak doesn’t work in recent Windows 10 versions.
