These are unreleased Start menu designs with 3D tiles

There are plenty of ideas Microsoft prepared and even implemented for Windows 10. Some of them you could already seen and tried. The most famous example is the Sets function, which was supposed to add a tabbed interface to all applications, but it never made it to release. But there are also many of features have never been revealed to the public. Between 2015 and 2020, the company's engineers came up with probably hundreds of different features, but they were never fully implemented.

Microsoft backported the new Media Player app to Windows 10

With Windows 11, Microsoft has also introduced a new Media Player app. It replaces the classic Groove Music app, and also will supersede even more classic Windows Media Player software. Microsoft is slowly sunsetting the latter, so it didn't get any new major change for several Windows releases. To keep Windows 10 up to date, Microsoft will make the new Media Player app available in that OS as well. Without a fanfare, the Redmond firm has pushed it to the Release Preview channel.

Windows Subsystem for Linux is generally available in Microsoft Store

The Windows Subsystem for Linux in the Microsoft Store is now generally available on Windows 10 and 11. Microsoft has announced the availability in the official blog, noting that it is now longer has a Preview tag. So, Windows 10 and Windows 11 can install the first stable release of the tool right from the Store.

Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.2301 (RP) adds a new app and search improvements

Microsoft has released a new build to Insiders running Windows 10 version 22H2 on the Release Preview channel. They receive Build 19045.2301 via KB5020030. It includes improvements made to the the taskbar search, fixes various issues with Store and DirectX. Also, it adds a new Quick Assist inbox app.

Windows 10 version 21H1 will reach its end of support next month

Next month, Microsoft will end support for all editions of Windows 10 version 21H1, also known as the May 2021 Update. The EOL date is December 13, 2022, when the OS will receive the latest cumulative update with vulnerability fixes. Microsoft recommends upgrading to the latest versions of Windows 10 as soon as possible to continue to stay protected.

Windows 10 Build 1904x.2193 optional update KB5018482 fixes Direct X and Edge

Microsoft has released a new patch for Windows 10 with various fixes, including resolved issues with Direct3D 9 games, Edge, and Windows Update. It is now available for all supported versions of the OS, and raises its version to build version 19042.2193, 19043.2193, and 19044.2193.
