Visual Studio Code 1.9 released, introduces a new home page and more

Microsoft has released another major update for its lightweight IDE, Visual Studio Code. This update brings a set of new features, previously available only in the Insiders version, including a new welcome page to help you get started with working in VS Code and find all the information you may need. The update also has lots of bug fixes and performance improvements as well as some new formatting options. Official Instagram app update for Windows 10 Mobile now lets you save photos for later

Instagram seems to be trying to appeal to Windows 10 Mobile users by releasing updates more frequently compared to the old Windows Phone 8.1 version. Not so long ago, Instagram introduced a Save for Later feature in its apps for Android and iOS and now this feature is available to Windows 10 Mobile users too. This feature allows you to bookmark interesting photos and have access to them later without having to Like them first. Windows Essentials 2012 app suite reached its end of support

Microsoft kept their promise and terminated support for Windows Essentials 2012 today. This is not a surprise because their plan to discontinue the popular desktop app suite was announced several months ago. Microsoft thinks the built-in apps in Windows are a good enough replacement.

You can now use JavaScript and WebGL in your HoloLens apps

Even if Microsoft is already quietly working on a new hardware revision for its augmented reality headset, HoloLens, there is still place for improvements to be done to the current platform. Dropbox UWP app update brings new UI design to all Windows 10 devices

Recently, we reported that the Dropbox UWP app was now available on Xbox One with the latest update and it also featured new UI changes. However, the update for other platforms still lacked the new UI design that its developer, Rudy Huyn, was teasing on his Twitter account. Microsoft launches Lumia self-help app with its support partner

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that its customer care services for Lumia and feature phones will be operated now by a German customer care company B2X. Right after the original announcement, B2X officials promised to release a "self-help" app for existing device owners and it's now available for download from Windows Store, offering a set of tools for customers to diagnose a problem in several possible scenarios.
