Edge Dev build 92.0.891.1 is today's release to Insiders with a galore of major improvements made to the browser. These include a new theme for the Immersive Reader feature, and a number of new options for vertical tabs. You can finally enable/disable them in all open browser windows, and even hide the title bar with vertical tabs enabled.

Microsoft released the first public version of the Chromium-based Edge browser a little more than a year ago. It brought much more than a new rendering engine and a fresh icon. With Edge Chromium, Microsoft changed how it develops the browser. Now users get drastically more frequent updates and an entire pack of preview channels to test. Before Edge Chromium, Microsoft simply offered two versions of the browser: stable and preview. Moreover, the latter was available only in Windows 10 preview builds. To test early versions of Microsoft Edge, users had to accept the risks of facing some bugs and instabilities on the OS level.

Not so long ago, Microsoft introduced a new Edge browser for Android that now shares a single code base with its desktop counterparts. As a result, the mobile version is now quickly catching up with features previously available only on Windows or macOS. In the latest update to Edge Canary, Microsoft has brought improved translation capabilities to Android.

Recently, Edge users began complaining about YouTube issues in the browser from Microsoft. The application stops responding and consumes enormous amounts of RAM, eventually crashing entirely. One of the Microsoft's engineers confirmed the problem on Reddit and offered users to download Edge Canary as a temporary solution. According to the information from a Microsoft software engineer, Edge Canary was already containing a fix for the problem. Now, that fix is available in the stable channel.

Microsoft has updated the Dev channel of Edge with a new build 92.0.884.2. Also, the company made available Edge 91 Beta for Linux, and also noted that the Linux Dev build may be delayed due to undisclosed issues, or even cancelled.

The released Edge Dev build adds two new features, Guided Switch and Fit To Page and Print as Actual Size for Print Preview.

Moving Microsoft Edge from the legacy EdgeHTML engine to Chromium has fixed a variety of compatibility issues and bugs, especially with many popular websites optimized primarily for Chromium. Nowadays, Microsoft Edge no longer behind the most popular browser in terms of compatibility, but some weird bugs still surface from time to time. During the last two weeks, users have been reporting issues with YouTube playback in Microsoft Edge 90 Stable. According to numerous complaints, YouTube playback constantly crashes the entire browser when streaming videos.

Microsoft Edge on desktop has a built-in screenshot tool called Web Capture. Although Windows 10 has plenty of tools to create screenshots, Web Capture offers a unique option to create a long screenshot of the entire page. Now Microsoft wants to bring the same utility to mobile platforms.

Not long ago Microsoft announced an "Outlook" Smart Tile feature for the Edge browser, which is tied to your Outlook inbox folder and exposes new messages and events right on the New Tab page in the browser. This change goes live for a small select group of Inisders.

Not so long ago Microsoft brought the vertical tabs feature to its Chromium-based Edge browser. Currently, if you have multiple windows open with Vertical tabs enabled in all of them, to switch to horizontal tabs, you have to do it individually in each of the windows. Today's small addition resolves this inconvenience.
