Android may finally get a battery health status report

It is likely that Google will start reporting battery degradation on Android smartphones. Unlike iPhone users who can easily access battery status information in the settings, Android device owners are currently required to use third-party apps or special commands to check their battery health.

The December Pixel Feature Drop has already introduced new battery information, including the manufacturing date and number of cycles of use. Additionally, the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2 has added a hidden battery status tab, although it currently does not include an actual battery health status indicator.

However, the code suggests that the tab will potentially display the estimated percentage of charge that the battery can currently hold compared to when it was new.

Moreover, Androidauthority has discovered icons that likely indicate low battery capacity or battery availability.

They guess that phone's Settings app will send notifications whenever there are any changes in battery capacity.
